Today’s a lucky day, a once-in-a-century day, and a cause for celebration for those of us who tend to glance at clocks at precisely 11:11 or wait for the moment to make a wish. Here are some easy ways to make it memorable.
- Send someone you love a postcard stamped with today’s date.
- Hug someone you love at exactly 11:11 am today — and again at 11:11 pm.
- For every person or especially every child in your home, create a list of 11 things about them that you think are special. Put it on your refrigerator. Leave it there for them to see every day.
- Make an anonymous random act of kindness your most memorable moment of the day. Suggestions:
- Pay for the order behind you at the drive-thru
- Clean up somebody else’s mess while they’re not looking
- Give someone serving you an extra $11 tip.
- Visit someone in a nursing home. Take them a small, inexpensive or hand-made gift.
- Make $11 donations to some of your favorite causes.
- Thank a veteran today for their service to our country.
Today won’t happen again for another hundred years. What will you do to make it count? My wish is that you do.
